At Spa Factory Bali, sustainability has never been just a trend—it is part of who we are. From sourcing natural ingredients to building transparent and traceable manufacturing processes, we continuously look for ways to create products that are not only effective but also responsible.
Our journey toward responsible derivatives from palm oil began with a simple conversation.
It Started with a Question
In 2023, some of our international clients (specially from Europe) raised concerns about palm-derived ingredients used in personal care products.
These conversations encouraged us to take a closer look at the issue. While we understood that these concerns existed, rather than falsely claiming that palm oil is not used in the ingredients, we prefer to educate our clients about the traceability of palm oil in our raw materials.
We knew there was an organization working to promote a better way forward—one that supports responsible palm oil production while protecting forests, biodiversity, and local communities. That organization was the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).
Believing in its mission, Spa Factory Bali became an RSPO Member in 2023, marking the beginning of our commitment to supporting a more sustainable palm oil supply chain.
Learning and Growing Together
Becoming an RSPO member was only the first step.
In 2025, we had the opportunity to work closely with the WWF Indonesia – Sustainable Commodities Team, whose guidance and support helped us deepen our understanding of responsible sourcing and prepare for RSPO certification. Also, it has given us the opportunity to review the way we work and making several improvements in order to be more professional

With their support and the dedication of our team, Spa Factory Bali successfully achieved RSPO Supply Chain Certification for contract manufacturing in the personal care sector in October 2025.

This achievement was especially meaningful because Spa Factory Bali became the first contract manufacturer in the personal care sector to receive RSPO certification—a milestone that reflects our long-term commitment to responsible manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Why RSPO Certification Matters
For us, RSPO certification is much more than a certificate displayed on the wall.
It represents a tangible commitment to ensuring that palm-derived raw materials used in our manufacturing are sourced responsibly. Responsible sourcing means supporting supply chains that help protect forests, conserve biodiversity, respect the rights of workers and local communities, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
This commitment also aligns closely with one of Spa Factory Bali's core missions: to be a manufacturer that operates with transparency and traceability throughout every stage of the production process.
We believe our customers deserve to know not only what ingredients are used in their products, but also where those ingredients come from and how they are sourced.
Looking Ahead
We understand that certifications can open new opportunities and strengthen trust with customers around the world (mainly for European market).
For us, RSPO certification is a concrete expression of our values.
While we proudly formulate products using natural ingredients, we also believe it is our responsibility to ensure those ingredients are sourced with care—for people, for nature, and for future generations.
Our commitment is not simply to create high-quality personal care products, but to contribute to a future where manufacturing supports environmental protection, empowers local communities, and helps preserve biodiversity.
This is only the beginning of our journey. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to making responsible choices that create lasting positive impacts throughout our supply chain and beyond.
